Example Lighting Co., Ltd. (fictional)
Prepared for: A. Buyer (fictional) · Review date: 2026-07-01 · Ref: FP-SAMPLE-0001
1. Executive Summary
The storefront “SunBright LED Store” resolves to the registered mainland entity Example Lighting Co., Ltd. (fictional), active since 2017, with a business scope covering LED manufacture and sale. Identity consistency between the storefront, website and quotation is good. Two material issues require resolution before payment: the proforma invoice names Brightwave Trading (HK) Limited (fictional) as beneficiary without documented relationship to the seller, and no inspection stage appears in the payment terms.
Visible risk: Moderate. The rating is driven by the unresolved beneficiary relationship and the missing inspection stage — both correctable, and both to be settled in writing before any transfer.
2. Identity Match
| Source | Name shown | Match |
|---|---|---|
| Marketplace storefront | SunBright LED Store | Trading name of registered entity — consistent |
| Company website | Example Lighting | Consistent |
| Quotation | Example Lighting Co., Ltd. (fictional) | Matches registry |
| Proforma invoice — seller | Example Lighting Co., Ltd. (fictional) | Matches registry |
| Proforma invoice — bank beneficiary | Brightwave Trading (HK) Limited (fictional) | Unresolved — see §5 |
3. Visible Risk Signals
- Beneficiary name on payment instructions differs from the seller entity, with no relationship evidenced in available records. (Material — drives rating.)
- No inspection stage before balance payment in the proposed terms. (Material — correctable at no cost.)
- Website footer shows a district-level address differing from the registered address; likely a sales office. (Minor — question 3 below.)
4. Factory / Trading Indicators
Registered scope includes manufacturing wording; registered address resolves to an industrial-park location; registered capital and insured-headcount band are consistent with a small-to-mid manufacturer. On documentary evidence, more consistent with a manufacturer than a trader. Documentary indicators are not conclusive; a live visit to the registered address is the direct test if manufacturer status is decision-critical.
5. Payment Review
Deposit 30% / balance 70% against copy of bill of lading. Deposit structure is within common range. The balance trigger provides no quality gate: payment falls due on shipment, not on inspection. The beneficiary, Brightwave Trading (HK) Limited (fictional), is a Hong Kong entity whose registration we confirmed separately; no group relationship to the mainland seller is visible in either register. Both issues are addressed in the questions below.
6. Unresolved Questions — send before paying
- What is the relationship between Example Lighting Co., Ltd. (fictional) and Brightwave Trading (HK) Limited (fictional)? Please provide a document showing the connection (group registration, authorization letter naming both entities, or shared directorship extract).
- Will you amend the PI to make the balance payable after a pre-shipment inspection by a third party of the buyer’s choice?
- Is the address on your website a sales office? Which address would a factory visit take place at?
7. Recommended Next Step
Settle questions 1–2 in writing before any transfer. If manufacturer status matters to your order economics, a live factory visit at the registered industrial-park address would test it directly; the visit checklist should include the SMT claim on the storefront. If answers to question 1 are unsatisfactory, do not proceed to payment on the current instructions.
8. Limitations
This review reflects records available on 2026-07-01. Registry data reflects filings, which may lag reality. Documentary review cannot establish production capacity, quality systems, solvency or intent. This report is not legal advice, not a certification, and not a guarantee of supplier performance. Final supplier selection, contracts and payment decisions remain the buyer’s responsibility.
The real report runs longer — full registry extracts, screenshots and source dates are included. Order it from the Supplier Verification page, or read how these findings are reached.
